West Texas Lake Turns Blood Red-- Hex or Apocalypse?

San Angelo- OC Fisher Reservoir has turned blood red. Residents of West Texas, particularly those in nearby San Angelo, have been fiercely debating the two most popular theories as to the strange occurrence.  Some say it's the apocalypse, while others are more sure the logical theory, a hex by the Wicked Witch of West Texas, is the better explanation.

"Logically speaking," says Tom Tangleweed of San Angelo, "we know that there have been semi-frequent incidents involving hexes in this area. Trying to tie this to something as far-fetched as the end of the world seems pretty crazy. The Wicked Witch of West Texas is almost surely behind this."

"It's the end of the world, the end, the end," Bob Bumble remarked as he ran by tearing his hair.

Scientists have a more complicated explanation. "This whole thing is because of the drought. The lake is drying up and bacteria which have a red pigmentation have taken over," explained Professor Blather of University of Texas, Nowhere. "That doesn't preclude the logical possibility that the drought was caused by a hex, therefore leading to the bacteria, though. Or that the end of the world is about to be brought on by a hex."

There will be a gunfight at high noon tomorrow between a yet to be chosen party from each of the main camps, in order to settle the matter. Until then, we're just calling it the "apocahex."
